Description:
The 2H5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse, rat, and human monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), also known as CCL2 and MCAF.
Applications Reported:
The 2H5 antibody has been reported for use in ELISA, intracellular staining for flow cytometric analysis, and cytokine neutralization.
(Functional assays should use the Functional Grade purified 2H5 antibody Product #16-7096-81).
Applications Tested:
Tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of thioglycolate-elicited peritoneal exudate cells.
Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information
This gene encodes a cytokine involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes.
The protein is structurally related to the CXC subfamily of cytokines, characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid.
It exhibits chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils, but not for neutrophils or eosinophils.
It is implicated in diseases with monocytic infiltrates such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis.
The cytokine binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.
