Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-1β. Anti-Murine IL-1β-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine IL-1β matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine IL-1β by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. When used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine IL-1β (500-P51Bt) as a detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine IL-1β.

Western Blot:
To detect Murine IL-1β by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Detection limit for Recombinant Murine IL-1β is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that requires inflammasome activation for cleavage into the active 17 kDa form via caspase-1 processing.
IL-1β lacks a signal peptide and is secreted through a non-classical pathway. It signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1α. Its activity is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA).
IL-1β plays a crucial role in innate immune defense and is associated with chronic inflammatory conditions. Neutralizing antibodies against IL-1β hold therapeutic potential.
