Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SRPX.
Target Information
SRPX1 was initially identified as a candidate gene for X-linked retinitis pigmentosa and is overexpressed in the trabecular network of the eye under glaucoma conditions. Its expression is significantly downregulated in various cancer cell lines and malignant tumor tissues. Ectopic expression induces apoptosis through the endoplasmic reticulum and activation of caspase-12, -9, and -3, suggesting a tumor suppressor role.
SRPX1 also regulates autophagy under low serum conditions and associates with Rab24, a member of the Rab GTPase family involved in autophagy. This association is enhanced during autophagy.
