Antibody detects endogenous levels of total RASSF1.
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein similar to the RAS effector proteins. Loss or altered expression of this gene has been associated with the pathogenesis of various cancers, suggesting a tumor suppressor function. Inactivation of this gene correlates with hypermethylation of its CpG-island promoter region. The encoded protein interacts with DNA repair protein XPA and inhibits the accumulation of cyclin D1, inducing cell cycle arrest. Seven alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
