Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

Gap junctions are specialized structures on plasma membranes of contacting cells, consisting of closely packed transmembrane channels. Connexins, the proteins forming these junctions, vary among tissues and are named by molecular mass. They are categorized as alpha or beta types based on sequence similarity. For example, CX43 is alpha-1, while CX32 and CX26 are beta-1 and beta-2, respectively. Connexins have four transmembrane, three intracellular, and two extracellular regions. Expression of connexins is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated. Connexin expression patterns play roles in processes such as embryo implantation.
