• Reconstitute in 50 µL sterile water.
• Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

Target Information

This gene encodes a polypeptide hormone precursor that undergoes extensive, tissue-specific post-translational processing by prohormone convertases.
There are eight potential cleavage sites, producing up to ten biologically active peptides depending on tissue type.
Major products include adrenocorticotrophin and beta-lipotropin, essential for steroidogenesis and adrenal maintenance.
In other tissues (hypothalamus, placenta, epithelium), peptides derived from full processing play roles in pain modulation, energy homeostasis, melanocyte stimulation, and immune regulation.
Mutations are linked to early-onset obesity, adrenal insufficiency, and red hair pigmentation.
Alternatively spliced variants encode the same protein.
