Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
Connexin 40 (Cx40) belongs to the connexin family of gap junction proteins, expressed in various tissues including pancreas, kidney, skeletal muscle, liver, placenta, and heart.
Cx40 is highly expressed in vascular endothelial cells and the mammalian heart, particularly in the atrial myocardium and the His-Purkinje conduction system.
Other connexins expressed in the heart include Cx37 (endocardium), Cx43 (atrial and ventricular myocardium, and distal conduction system), and Cx45 (throughout the heart).
Cx40 and Cx43 often co-localize in cardiovascular cells and form heterotypic gap junction channels.
