Target Information

Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4A) is an orphan nuclear receptor expressed in the liver, kidney, intestine, and pancreas.
Mutations in HNF4A are associated with maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 1 (MODY1).
HNF4 binds DNA as a homodimer, and the gene may produce up to nine isoforms (HNF4A1–HNF4A9) via alternative splicing.
