Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This purified antibody has been heated to 56°C for 30 minutes. In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody will recognize both native and recombinant human IL-2 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids. A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine that is important for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL-4) and interleukin 7 (IL-7).
The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, representing an unusual regulatory mode for controlling precise gene expression.
Disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to an ulcerative colitis-like disease, suggesting an essential role of IL-2 in immune response to antigenic stimuli.
