MIP-1 beta Antibody Biotin Conjugated is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis. The antibody was heat-treated at 56°C for 30 minutes.
In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant human IL-9 in cell supernatants and certain body fluids. A control using similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Target Information

CCL4 (macrophage inflammatory protein 1-beta, MIP1B) belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
It is involved in chemotactic and proinflammatory effects, and plays a role in homeostasis.
CCL4 is produced by macrophages upon stimulation by bacterial endotoxins and recruits inflammatory cells to sites of inflammation.
Produced by lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, CCL4 and CCL3 regulate the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells.
While both affect monocytes similarly, CCL4 selectively attracts CD4+ lymphocytes and CCL3 attracts CD8+ lymphocytes.
They are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells.
Processed CCL4 can down-modulate CCR5 receptor expression, inhibiting CCR5-mediated HIV-1 entry into T cells.
CCL4 binds with high affinity to CCR5 receptors.
