Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

BID is a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. It belongs to the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators and mediates mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8). Upon cleavage by CASP8, the COOH-terminal fragment translocates to mitochondria, triggering cytochrome c release and apoptosis.
BID acts as a direct molecular link between caspase-8 activation and the mitochondrial death pathway. It typically exists in an inactive cytosolic form and becomes activated upon cleavage by caspase-8 in response to TNF-α or Fas ligand.
