Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Neurofilaments (NFs) are intermediate filaments found almost exclusively in neurons, particularly in large axons. They consist of three subunits—NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H—that share a coiled-coil core domain but differ in terminal sequences. NF-M plays a critical role in axonal size and cytoskeletal architecture through its phosphorylated tail domain. Phosphorylation and O-GlcNAcylation regulate NF-M function and filament formation. Antibodies against neurofilament subunits serve as valuable neuronal markers due to their abundance and stability in the nervous system.
