Product Specific Information

  • Specificity: Specific for the nucleocapsid of Covid-19 virus.
    Cross-reactive with SARS.
    Non-reactive with Influenza A, Influenza B, Adenovirus, and MERS.
    Reactive with nucleocapsids of variants: UK B.1.1.7, SA B.1.351, Brazil P.1, B.1.617.2 (Delta), B.1.1.529 (Omicron), and BA.7.

  • Purity and Formulation:

    90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
    Final preparation: 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide.
    Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
    No stabilizing proteins added.
    Store at 4°C until use.

    • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50

Target Information

SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein is associated with nucleic acid and is the most abundant protein in coronavirus. Due to its strong immunogenicity, it has potential diagnostic value. The N protein is an RNA-binding protein critical for viral genome packaging, containing three dynamic disordered regions with transiently-helical binding motifs. The two folded domains interact minimally, making the full-length N protein a flexible and multivalent RNA-binding molecule. SARS-CoV-2 causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to severe diseases.
