Product Specific Information

  • Specificity: Specific for the nucleocapsid of Covid-19 virus.
    Cross-reacts with SARS.
    Non-reactive with Influenza A, Influenza B, Adenovirus & MERS.
    Reactive with nucleocapsids of variants: UK B.1.1.7, SA B.1.351, Brazil P.1, B.1.617.2 (Delta), B.1.1.529 (Omicron) & BA.7.

  • Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
    The final preparation is formulated to a protein concentration of 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.1% sodium azide.
    Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
    This product contains no stabilizing proteins and should be stored at 4°C until ready for use.
    Working dilution must be determined by the user.
    Suggested starting ranges:

    • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
    • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein is associated with nucleic acid and is the most abundant protein in coronavirus. Due to its strong immunogenicity, it has potential diagnostic value.
The N protein is an abundant RNA-binding protein critical for viral genome packaging, containing dynamic disordered regions with transiently-helical motifs.
Its two folded domains interact minimally, making the full-length N protein flexible and multivalent in RNA binding.
SARS-CoV-2 causes illnesses ranging from mild cold-like symptoms to severe diseases.
