Product Specific Information

  • Specificity: Specific for the nucleocapsid of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
  • Cross-reactivity: Cross reacts with SARS.
  • Non-reactive with: Influenza A, Influenza B, Adenovirus, and MERS.
  • Reactive with Variants: UK B.1.1.7, SA B.1.351, Brazil P.1, B.1.617.2 (Delta), B.1.1.529 (Omicron), and BA.7.

Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by protein A chromatography. The final preparation is formulated to a protein concentration of 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 0.1% sodium azide. Each vial contains 1.0 mL. This product contains no stabilizing proteins and should be stored at 4°C until use. Working dilution must be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges are 1:10–1:50 for ICC/IF and 1:20–1:200 for ELISA.

Target Information

SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein is associated with nucleic acid and is the most abundant protein in coronavirus. Due to its strong immunogenicity, it has potential diagnostic value. The N protein is an RNA-binding protein critical for viral genome packaging, containing three dynamic disordered regions with transiently-helical binding motifs. The two folded domains interact minimally, making the full-length N protein a flexible and multivalent RNA-binding protein. SARS-CoV-2 causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to severe diseases.
