Product Specific Information

The TULY56 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM).

• CD56 is a highly glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons and involved in neural cell adhesion.
• In the hematopoietic system, CD56 is expressed on NK cells and NKT cells.
• TULY56 does not block CMSSB binding, indicating different epitopes.
• Performs better after fixation and permeabilization compared to CMSSB.
• Crossreacts with Rhesus macaque.
• Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
• Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL total volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
• Fluorochrome: PerCP-eFluor® 710 (emission 710 nm, excitation 488 nm).
  • Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (alternative: 695/40).
  • Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation — protect from light.
• Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
• Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family involved in cell adhesion and neural development.

• Expressed in neurons, T cells, NK cells.
• Functions in migration, axonal growth, pathfinding, and synaptic plasticity.
• Polysialic modification reduces adhesion.
• Binds extracellular matrix components such as laminin and integrins.
• Found in neuroectodermal-derived cell lines and tumors (retinoblastoma, medulloblastoma, astrocytoma, neuroblastoma).
• Used as a neuroendocrine marker for high sensitivity detection of neuroendocrine and ovarian granulosa cell tumors.
• Associated with diseases such as rabies and blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasms.
