Product Specific Information
This CMSSB monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD56 (Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule, NCAM). CD56 is a glycosylated transmembrane molecule expressed by neurons, mediating homotypic adhesion of neural cells. In hematopoietic systems, CD56 is expressed on NK and NKT cells. Staining with CMSSB does not block binding of MEM188 or CB56.

- Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for normal human peripheral blood cells
- Use at 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test
- Test defined as antibody amount for 100 µL cell sample (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with the 488 nm blue laser. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information
CD56 (NCAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family involved in neural adhesion. It is expressed in neurons, NK cells, and subsets of T cells, playing roles in cell migration, axonal growth, and synaptic plasticity. CD56 interacts with extracellular matrix components such as laminin and integrins and is expressed in neuroectodermal-derived tissues and tumors (e.g., retinoblastoma, neuroblastoma). It serves as a sensitive neuroendocrine marker for diagnostic research.
