Product Specific Information

The TS2/9 antibody recognizes human CD58 (Lymphocyte Associated Antigen-3, LFA-3). CD58 exists as both a transmembrane and a GPI-linked extracellular protein, and both forms can be expressed concurrently. Soluble CD58 has been observed in serum, urine, and synovial fluid of rheumatoid arthritis patients. CD58 is expressed on non-hematopoietic and most hematopoietic cells.

Binding to its ligand CD2 on T cells initiates signaling pathways leading to cytokine release. CD58 plays roles in cell adhesion, T cell activation, cytokine production, and cytotoxicity. The TS2/9 clone can induce signaling upon crosslinking, and the epitope is located in domain 1 of the immunoglobulin region.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry using human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per 100 µL test volume (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor™ 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited at 488 nm (blue laser). Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C (in dark) using:

• IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222)
• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333)

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. The protein acts as a ligand for CD2 on T lymphocytes, mediating adhesion and activation. It is localized to the plasma membrane, and alternative splicing variants are known.
