Product Specific Information

This antibody detects a 68 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of phosphorylated paxillin on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of EGF-treated A431 cells, but not in control A431 cells. Similar results were observed in calyculin A-treated human A431 and aortic endothelial cells.

Target Information

Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. Its tyrosine phosphorylation is influenced by conditions affecting cell-cell adhesion. Paxillin interacts tightly with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain, independent of the extracellular matrix. Initially discovered in fibroblasts, paxillin phosphorylation also plays an important role during neurite extension and differentiation.
