Product Specific Information
This antibody is specific for human CD19, a 95 kDa protein expressed in the B-lymphocyte lineage.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and may also appear on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a key regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias. It acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can signal independently of BCR co-ligation. Mutations in CD19 lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression results in B cell hyperactivity.
