Product Specific Information

A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45887 was sufficient for detection of c-Fos in 10 µg of serum-starved HeLa cells treated with PMA by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Detects a 62 kDa band. Observed molecular weight of the band is higher than the predicted 41 kDa band due to post-translational modifications.

Target Information

FBJ murine osteosarcoma viral oncogene homolog (c-Fos) belongs to the Fos transcription factor family and is encoded by the C-FOS gene located on chromosome 14.
c-Fos heterodimerizes with c-Jun to form the Activator Protein-1 (AP-1) transcription factor, which regulates transcription of genes involved in cellular signal transduction, proliferation, and differentiation.
Phosphorylation of c-Fos occurs at multiple sites in response to stimuli such as growth factors and insulin. The ERK MAPK kinase phosphorylates c-Fos at Threonine 232, regulating its nuclear localization and transcriptional activity.
