Product Specific Information

The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

SUPV3L1 is a major helicase involved in mitochondrial RNA metabolism and functions as a component of the mitochondrial degradosome (mtEXO) complex. It degrades 3′ overhang double-stranded RNA in a 3′-to-5′ direction in an ATP-dependent manner. The protein participates in the degradation of non-coding mitochondrial transcripts (MT-ncRNA) and tRNA-like molecules. It acts as an ATPase and multisubstrate helicase capable of unwinding dsDNA, dsRNA, and RNA/DNA heteroduplexes in the 5′-to-3′ direction. SUPV3L1 plays a critical role in mitochondrial RNA surveillance, regulating mRNA stability, removing aberrantly formed transcripts, and degrading noncoding intermediates. It is also implicated in recombination and chromatin maintenance pathways and may protect cells from apoptosis by associating with mitochondrial DNA. [UniProt]
