Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Midkine. Anti-Human Midkine-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human Midkine matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Midkine by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, used with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human Midkine (500-P171Bt) as a detection antibody, enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Midkine.
Western Blot:
To detect Human Midkine by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human Midkine is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
Midkine is a retinoic acid-responsive, heparin-binding growth factor expressed in various cell types during embryogenesis. It promotes angiogenesis, cell growth, and cell migration. Midkine is also expressed in several carcinomas, suggesting that it may play a role in tumorigenesis, perhaps through its effects on angiogenesis.
