NALP5는 MATER로도 알려져 있으며, 생쥐의 초기 배아 발달에 필수적인 모계 유전자입니다.
NALP5 발현 증가는 신경 손상 모델에서 관찰되었으며, 뉴런에서 NALP5의 일시적 발현은 caspase-3 활성화와 세포자멸사를 유도합니다.
