Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
- Expected reactivity: RFP and variants (mCherry, tdTomato, mBanana, mOrange, mPlum, mStrawberry).
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis showed a single precipitin arc against anti-fluorescein, anti-rabbit serum, and purified Red Fluorescent Protein (Discosoma).
- No cross-reactivity with human, mouse, or rat serum proteins.
- ELISA confirmed specificity at less than 0.1% of target signal.
Target Information
Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is isolated from Discosoma sp. (Uniprot ID: Q9U6Y8) and is widely used as a molecular tag in studies of protein localization, reporter gene expression, and protein–protein interactions. Although naturally a homotetramer, monomeric variants have been engineered for diverse applications.
