Product Specific Information

Description:
The MAR-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon Receptor I alpha subunit (FcεRIα), an IgE-binding subunit that lacks signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is up-regulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits, which contain ITAM motifs essential for signal transduction. The FcεRI complex triggers IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of the MC/9 mouse mast cell line. Recommended use ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody concentration should be titrated for each experiment.
Filtered through a 0.2 µm membrane post-manufacturing.

Target Information

FceR1 (FcεRIα):
A subunit of the high-affinity IgE receptor, forming a tetrameric complex (αβγ₂). The receptor mediates allergic responses by coupling allergen-bound IgE with mast cells, leading to histamine and mediator release responsible for allergy symptoms such as those in hay fever and asthma.
