Product Specific Information

Description:
The AER-37 monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilon RI alpha subunit, an IgE-binding subunit lacking signal-transducing ability. FcεRIα is expressed on mast and basophil cells and is upregulated by the presence of IgE. It forms a tetrameric complex with one beta and two gamma subunits, which contain ITAM motifs. The FcεRI complex plays a crucial role in triggering IgE-mediated allergic reactions.

Applications Reported:
AER-37 has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
The AER-37 (CRA1) antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of peripheral blood cells. Recommended use is ≤0.25 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha):
A subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE. The FcεRI complex is tetrameric, composed of one alpha, one beta, and two gamma subunits. The beta and gamma subunits mediate signal transduction. This receptor plays a key role in allergic responses by linking allergen-bound IgE to mast cells, leading to histamine and mediator release responsible for allergy symptoms such as hay fever and asthma. It initiates inflammatory responses through histamine, proteases, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes.
