Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Members of the trefoil family are characterized by having at least one copy of the trefoil motif, a 40-amino acid domain containing three conserved disulfides. They are stable secretory proteins expressed in the gastrointestinal mucosa. Although their precise functions are not fully defined, they may protect the mucosa from insults, stabilize the mucus layer, and promote epithelial healing.
This gene, expressed in gastric mucosa, has been studied for its expression in human tumors. It is located in a gene cluster on chromosome 21 along with two other trefoil family members.
