Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of DARPP-32 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 34.
Target Information
DARPP-32 is a dopamine (DA) and AMP-regulated ~32 kDa phosphoprotein associated with dopaminoceptive neurons.
The protein inhibits Protein Phosphatase I when phosphorylated on Thr34.
In contrast, phosphorylation on Thr75 converts it into a PKA inhibitor.
Phosphorylation of DARPP-32 plays a key role in dopaminergic neurotransmission and may influence the actions of alcohol, caffeine, and Prozac®.
