Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with Yeast based on sequence homology.
Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of recombinant production.
While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and enabling high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—Superclonal™ antibodies have a defined composition of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility across lots.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant Polyclonal Antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ Antibody”. The product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
Syntaxins are SNARE family proteins involved in vesicular transport.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast), there are approximately seven syntaxin-like genes, while humans have about fifteen. Syntaxins, along with cytoplasmic proteins such as NSF and SNAP, coordinate vesicular transport systems for exocytic and endocytic pathways, ensuring specificity in vesicle fusion processes.
In yeast, the syntaxin protein is known as Pep12, which mediates vesicle transport from the Golgi apparatus.
