Product Specific Information
Specificity: CAT-13.1E10 antibody recognises CD19, a transmembrane glycoprotein that regulates B lymphocyte development, activation, and differentiation.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells defined by kappa or lambda light chain expression. CD19 is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells, particularly of monocytic lineage.
It functions as a key regulator of B cell proliferation and differentiation, acting as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR). Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
