Specificity: CAT-13.1E10 antibody recognises CD19, a transmembrane glycoprotein that regulates B lymphocyte development, activation, and differentiation.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and can also appear on myeloid leukemia cells, particularly of monocytic lineage. CD19 acts as a functional regulator of normal and malignant B cell proliferation and is expressed in all B cell precursor leukemias.
CD19 assembles with the B cell antigen receptor to lower the activation threshold for antigen-dependent stimulation. It serves as a signal-amplifying co-receptor and a central regulatory component for multiple signaling pathways. Mutation of CD19 leads to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression causes B cell hyperactivity.
