This antibody detects endogenous levels of MYPT1 only when phosphorylated at Ser299.
Target Information
Myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1), also known as the myosin-binding subunit of myosin phosphatase, is a regulatory component of the myosin phosphatase complex. It modulates the interaction between actin and myosin downstream of the Rho GTPase signaling pathway. Activated RhoA (GTP-bound form) interacts with MYPT1, influencing the phosphorylation state of myosin light chain (MLC) and thus regulating smooth muscle contraction and cytoskeletal dynamics in nonmuscle cells. Rho-associated kinase (Rho-kinase) phosphorylates MYPT1, leading to inhibition of myosin phosphatase activity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
