Product Specific Information

MA1-40078 detects monocytes/macrophages from mouse samples.
It is specially reactive to monocytes and macrophages located in hemopoietic organs. While other leukocytes are ER-HR3 negative, up to 70% of circulating monocytes stain positive with this monoclonal antibody. Approximately 30% of bone marrow cells express the antigen. Positive macrophages are found in splenic red pulp, mesenteric lymphoid paracortex, interfollicular areas of Peyer’s patches, and bone marrow. Few positive cells are observed in the thymic cortex and connective tissues of the gastrointestinal tract, dermis, and renal medulla. Epidermal Langerhans cells also express the antigen.

MA1-40078 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry (paraffin and frozen) and flow cytometry applications.
The immunogen is mouse monocytes and macrophages.

Target Information

Macrophages are large phagocytic cells found in tissues or as mobile white blood cells, especially at sites of infection.
Monocytes are large phagocytic white blood cells with an oval nucleus and clear, grayish cytoplasm.
Monocytes and macrophages are found in interdigitating cells and activated microglia cells.
