Product Specific Information

MA1-40070 detects SIGN-R1 from mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry, functional assays, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin and frozen) applications.
The immunogen used is mouse SIGN-R1.

Target Information

This gene encodes a transmembrane receptor commonly referred to as DC-SIGN, expressed on dendritic cells and macrophages.
It plays a key role in the innate immune system, recognizing diverse pathogens including parasites and viruses.
The protein has three domains: an N-terminal transmembrane domain, a tandem-repeat neck domain, and a C-type lectin carbohydrate recognition domain.
The extracellular region enables pathogen recognition and cell adhesion by binding carbohydrate ligands on microbial and endogenous surfaces.
The neck domain facilitates homo-oligomerization, enhancing multivalent ligand binding.
Variations in the neck domain repeat number affect ligand-binding properties.
DC-SIGN is closely related to L-SIGN (GeneID 10332), differing in ligand-binding and tissue distribution.
Alternative splicing produces multiple variants.
