Product Specific Information

Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.


Target Information

This gene encodes a multifunctional protein that resides in multiple locations in the nucleus and in the cytoplasm. It interacts with various proteins, including apoptosis antigen Fas, centromere protein C, and transcription factor E26 oncogene homolog 1.
In the nucleus, it acts as a transcription repressor that binds to sumoylated transcription factors. Its repression can be relieved by sequestration into promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies or nucleoli.
In the cytoplasm, it may regulate apoptosis. The localization and function are modulated by post-translational modifications such as sumoylation, phosphorylation, and polyubiquitination.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
