Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Parvalbumin (PV) is a calcium-binding protein expressed in specific muscle fibers and fast-firing neurons. It belongs to the EF-hand protein family and plays a role in calcium decay during the contraction/relaxation cycle of fast-twitch muscles.
Studies show a positive correlation between relaxation rate and parvalbumin concentration. PV is also expressed in certain GABAergic interneurons that help maintain excitation-inhibition balance in the cortex and hippocampus.
In amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients, parvalbumin immunoreactivity is absent from neuron populations lost early in the disease.
