Target Information

TLR7 is a highly conserved membrane protein of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, containing 27 leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a TIR domain. It plays a key role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLR7 is activated by infections with single-stranded RNA viruses such as influenza and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). It is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen, and located near TLR8. TLR7 acts via MyD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappaB activation, cytokine secretion, and inflammatory response. It recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediates cytokine production essential for effective immunity.
