- Keep as concentrated solution.

Target Information
HIF1-alpha (HIF1A) is a subunit of HIF1, a transcription factor in mammalian cells under reduced oxygen tension. HIF-1 is a heterodimer composed of alpha and beta subunits, both belonging to the basic-helix-loop-helix PAS family of transcription factors. It regulates cellular response to hypoxia by activating transcription of over 40 genes, including erythropoietin, glucose transporters, glycolytic enzymes, and VEGF.
HIF1-alpha modulates hypoxia-mediated apoptosis, cell proliferation, and angiogenesis. Under hypoxia, it interacts with p53 and undergoes MDM2-mediated ubiquitination and degradation. It also contributes to NOX4 induction, maintaining ROS levels after hypoxia.
The human HIF1A gene is located on chromosome 14q, and its C-terminal region binds to p300, forming complexes that regulate hypoxia-responsive genes.
Hypoxia plays a significant role in diseases such as myocardial and cerebral ischemia, cancer, pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease, and COPD.
