This affinity purified antibody is directed against human PPAR gamma isoform 2 protein.
BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human and macaque proteins based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence.
Cross-reactivity with dog and swine PPARγ2 (94% homology) and mouse PPARγ2 (87% homology) is likely.
No reactivity is expected against other subtypes of PPAR.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) subfamily of nuclear receptors.
PPARs form heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) and regulate transcription of various genes.
Three subtypes are known: PPAR-alpha, PPAR-delta, and PPAR-gamma.
PPAR-gamma regulates adipocyte differentiation and is implicated in obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cancer.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
