Product Specific Information

This affinity purified antibody is directed against human PPAR gamma protein.
BLAST analysis suggests broad reactivity with PPAR gamma from multiple species including human (g1, g2), mouse (g1, g2), rat, squirrel, orangutan, duck (g1), macaque (g1–g7), boar (g1a–1d), mink, guinea pig, rabbit (g1, g3), dog, and hamster based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence.
No reactivity is expected against other subtypes of PPAR.
Target Information
The PPAR gamma gene encodes a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) subfamily of nuclear receptors. PPARs form heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) to regulate transcription of various genes.
Three subtypes of PPARs are known: PPAR-alpha, PPAR-delta, and PPAR-gamma.
PPAR-gamma regulates adipocyte differentiation and is implicated in diseases such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and cancer.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
