Target Information

PDZK1 is a scaffold protein that links plasma membrane proteins and regulatory components, controlling their surface expression in epithelial cell apical domains.
It participates in regulating ion transport and second messenger cascades and may modulate the trafficking and activity of associated membrane proteins.
PDZK1 interacts with ABCC2 and PDZK1IP1, potentially influencing multidrug resistance mechanisms, and may enhance CFTR chloride channel activity.
It also connects SCARB1 to intracellular cholesterol transport and may regulate Na(+)-dependent phosphate cotransport in renal tubules.
