Target Information

GADD153 (also known as DDIT3) is a small nuclear protein that dimerizes with transcription factors C/EBP alpha and beta.
This complex inhibits the normal binding of C/EBP to classical binding sites, while gaining activity toward non-classical, stress-related targets.
Under normal conditions, GADD153 expression is minimal, but it is highly upregulated under cellular or ER stress (e.g., tunicamycin treatment, nutrient starvation, or reducing agents affecting ER calcium flux).
