Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

CD30 (Ki-1, TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily.
Originally identified as a surface antigen of Hodgkin’s and Reed–Sternberg cells, CD30 binds to its ligand CD30L (CD153) to mediate various cellular processes including proliferation, activation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

CD30 plays a critical role in the pathophysiology of Hodgkin’s disease and other CD30+ lymphomas, and acts as a costimulatory molecule in thymic negative selection. It is expressed on Hodgkin’s and Reed–Sternberg cells, certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (e.g., Burkitt’s lymphoma), virus-infected T/B cells, and activated normal T/B cells.

In T cells, CD30 is found in subsets producing Th2-type cytokines and on CD4+/CD8+ thymocytes co-expressing CD45RO and the IL4 receptor. The soluble form (sCD30) serves as a marker of Th2 immune response.
TRAF2 and TRAF5 interact with CD30 to activate NF-κB signaling, promoting apoptosis and limiting autoreactive CD8 effector T-cell proliferation.
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.

Expression: Mononuclear cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Reed–Sternberg cells, and most Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphomas (ALCL); also expressed by embryonal carcinomas.
