Target Information
TCF12 (HTF4)는 basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) E-protein 계열에 속하며, E-box 서열(CANNTG)을 인식합니다.
이 단백질은 골격근, 흉선, B세포, T세포 등 다양한 조직에서 발현되며, 다른 bHLH E-protein과의 이합체를 통해 계통 특이적 유전자 발현 조절에 관여합니다.
E2A와 함께 TCF12는 pre-TCR 발현 전의 흉선세포 증식을 억제하며, 정상적인 T 세포 분화에 필수적입니다.
또한 invariant natural killer T 세포 발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
