Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include:

  • Enhanced specificity and sensitivity
  • Lot-to-lot consistency
  • Animal origin-free formulations
  • Broader immunoreactivity due to the larger rabbit immune repertoire

Target Information

SRC is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase and proto-oncogene regulating embryonic development and cell growth. It associates with various cell surface receptors for signal transduction and is involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis.
In humans, SRC is encoded on chromosome 20. Its activity is controlled by phosphorylation at Tyr416 and Tyr527, which have opposing effects—phosphorylation at Tyr416 activates SRC, while Tyr527 phosphorylation inhibits it.
Mutations in SRC may contribute to malignant progression in colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been identified.
