Goat anti-Human Troponin I antibody recognizes human cardiac-specific troponin I (TnI), an integral inhibitory protein of cardiac muscle, which forms a complex with troponin C (TnC) and troponin T (TnT).
Target Information
Cardiac Troponin I (TnI) is an inhibitory protein in cardiac muscle that forms a complex with troponin C (TnC) and troponin T (TnT). The troponin complex regulates muscle contraction through calcium-mediated conformational changes. Measurement of blood TnI and TnT levels serves as a diagnostic indicator of heart muscle damage, useful for differentiating between angina and myocardial infarction. Cardiac Troponin I also inhibits angiogenesis in vivo and in vitro. Mutations in the Cardiac Troponin I gene are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy type 7 (CMH7) and familial restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM).
