Product Specific Information
The 23G3 monoclonal antibody reacts with the epsilon heavy chain of mouse IgE and does not cross-react with other mouse immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA, IgM).
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis and ELISA.
Applications Tested:
- ELISA: 1:5,000–1:10,000 dilution
- Flow Cytometry: ≤ 0.25 µg/test (approximately 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
A test is defined as the amount of antibody required to stain a cell sample in a final 100 µL volume. Optimal antibody concentration should be determined empirically.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
IgE is one of the five classes of mammalian immunoglobulins, consisting of two epsilon heavy chains and two light chains. It plays a key role in type I hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., hay fever, asthma, hives, anaphylaxis) by binding to Fc receptors on basophils and mast cells. Crosslinking of IgE-Fc receptor complexes triggers degranulation, leading to allergic responses. IgE also contributes to immune defense against parasitic infections.
