Target Information
Nestin is a Class VI intermediate filament protein abundantly expressed in the developing central nervous system and early embryonic neuroepithelial stem cells. It serves as a key marker for stem/progenitor cells, glioma cells, and tumor endothelial cells. Nestin antibodies are valuable for:
- Characterizing progenitor cell differentiation
- Enhancing therapeutic potential of neural stem/progenitor cells
- Identifying neuroepithelial tumor cells
- Evaluating angiogenesis in tumor endothelial cells
Nestin expression has also been observed in pancreatic hematopoietic stem cells and proliferating endothelial cells in colorectal cancer tissues.
