This antibody detects endogenous levels of A-RAF only when phosphorylated at Ser214.

Target Information

Several serine/threonine protein kinases function as intermediates in signal transduction pathways, including ERK/MAP kinases, ribosomal S6 kinase (Rsk), and Raf-1.
Raf-1 is a cytoplasmic protein with intrinsic serine/threonine kinase activity and is the cellular homolog of v-Raf, the transforming gene product of the 3611 strain of murine sarcoma virus.
While v-Raf’s unregulated kinase activity is associated with transformation and mitogenesis, Raf-1 activity is normally suppressed by a regulatory N-terminal domain.
A-Raf, another member of the Raf gene family, shares substantial homology with Raf-1 within the kinase domain but less elsewhere.
A-Raf expression is highest in urogenital tissues and kidney, and lowest in brain tissue.
